This was a new build barn style house very typical of Border Oak design, built at rear of Norman Hall, Mill Lane, Ickleton, saffron Walden, Essex, CB10 1SL It has just been completed. Our client is delighted. We bought English Oak all fully FSC certified and followed the beams from the woodlands right through the sawmill to the final house build. To complement the style we utilised very high spec Timber factory painted and glazed windows and steel roof windows. We aimed for a combination of Traditional with Contemporary and high performance.

The icing on the cake was the superb yet simple Balconette balcony which looks fantastic against all the other materials. Rural/Industrial feel to the building. We have incorporated these on other upcoming projects so this will be the first of many. Balcony Systems were brilliant, so easy to deal with and flexible approach to our needs and delivery time. A breath of fresh air in the construction industry. Excellent VFM, Border Oak are a high spec and top brand in our field. The glass Juliette balconies fit nicely into our portfolio.
