A note on fixings:
Please note that details of correct fixings are given below: because of the many different wall materials possible we do not supply fixing bolts, and you will need to purchase them separately to suit the material of your building.
Skills and Safety:
Please note that installation is straightforward, but should only be considered if you have experience working on buildings at height.
Please bear in mind that the glass sheets are heavy, and proper lifting and safety equipment is essential for above-ground working.
Tools and equipment:
- Appropriate fixings for the wall
- Drill for wall fixings
- Spirit level
- Tape measure
- Appropriate lifting equipment and installation platform
- Rubber mallet
- Soapy water
Options, Spans and Limitations:
Juliet balconies, or barriers (Technically known as Edge protection by building control) are required on full height and open-able openings exist where there is a fall or drop that is greater than 60cm (600mm or just over 23 inches in imperial measurements). There is growing use of first floor and above modern and full height glazing that opens up. Giving more light and air to a property it is an attractive solution.
