‘My Balconette Juliet Balcony is exactly what was needed’

Adding the chic finishing touch to this whole house refurbishment in Esher, Surrey is a smart Balconette Glass Juliet balcony which the homeowner Stephen Rumsby says, “is exactly what was needed”.

Using Balconette’s Aerofoil System with the handrail in a Royal Chrome anodised finish, the Juliet balcony provides a secure barrier to the first-floor French Doors off a master bedroom in the new extension.

Stephen discovered Balconette’s product through an internet search and chose their glass Juliet balcony as “it was the one I liked the look of the best”. On the company’s customer service, he observes: “Their sales lady Mae was extremely helpful, answered all my queries and guided me through the process.”

Unhappy with the price of his first quote for installation from a local installer, Stephen asked Balconette for any recommendations. They recommended one of their Registered Partner Installers, Nick Lewis of SGS Glass Products Ltd, who subsequently installed the Juliet balcony in a few hours.

“Nick was a bit nearer to me and also installed it for a more reasonable price using an Easy Reach access system, rather than traditional scaffolding,” continues Stephen. “The installation went well, and access was easy, so I was happy with that.”  

On the finished result, Stephen concludes: “As a Juliet balcony, it’s just what I’d wanted it to do. It would have looked wrong with metal rails across it; I didn’t want that. Glass is a much better idea and keeps the view out over fields. Everyone who has seen it, loves it and I am delighted with it!”
