Measuring more than nine metres in width, this spectacular Balconette Curvaglide® Curved Glass sliding door makes a dramatic statement on a substantial new property in the East Midlands.
Aron and Caroline Wilkins spent eight years planning their spacious five-bedroomed home, which is built on the site of an old farmhouse. The build, which took several years, was completed in 2020.
Explaining their rationale, Caroline says: “Curved glass was especially important to us as we wanted to make the most of the countryside views and the space in the house. We saw Balconette’s curved door on their website, and it was just what we wanted. We are delighted with the result!”
The W6F model’s doors create a ‘circle’ which enables an uninterrupted view of about 300 degrees and allows in plenty of natural light to the first-floor dressing room. Four of the six panels slide back in front of the third door panels on either side, which are fixed to the external frame.
“What I like most about the door is the very wide field of view and because it is at height, you can see a very long way,” continues Caroline. “The curve of the door lets in a lot of light and in the evening, we get to see a considerable number of stars. It is really beautiful, and the sunset views are fantastic. It increases the potential of the views from the house.”
Balconette’s customer service impressed the couple, with Caroline adding: “From a customer service perspective, the service we have received from their team has been really good.”
