More than 30 metres of Balconette’s SG12 Fully Frameless System have helped to transform an old double garage into a pool house with a spacious roof terrace allowing uninterrupted views of surrounding fields and countryside in the Channel Islands.
The new entertaining space, complete with a sail-shade and overlooking the swimming pool, completes an extensive refurbishment project for a Jersey couple.
“The balustrade looks absolutely fabulous, and the roof terrace has definitely added a lot of value in terms of extra space, especially for a small island like Jersey,” they say. “Now that we’ve finished our project, it’s a great social place to relax and enjoy the views as we’re not overlooked. A glass balustrade was important to us to keep the views.”
Having initially sought glass balustrading quotes on the island, an internet search led them to Balconette and a pleasant surprise. “When we checked out Balconette’s website, it showed they’d done balustrading projects in Jersey. Then when we used the online quotation system, it showed that the cost was more affordable, so we decided to go ahead. Even the delivery charge was reasonable considering the size of the order.”
The homeowners were impressed with how the Balconette team efficiently handled the ordering and delivery process, saying: “When we had an issue with the measurements and glass sizes, Balconette advised us, gave us time to confirm these and honoured our original quote, which was great. Their consultant Alyousef Magracia was very helpful.”
The balustrade, with a Silver anodised base rail, was installed in two weeks by their builder who was familiar with the Balconette system. They also specified Balconette’s BalcoNano® self-cleaning glass coating that protects the glass and keeps it cleaner by repelling mineral deposits and rainwater, commenting: “We cleaned the balustrade once when it was installed and have not had to do it again, so the glass seems to be staying cleaner.”
