Measuring more than five metres across, each clear glass balcony off the master bedroom suite allows unimpeded views over the rear gardens and brings natural light into the interior.
For these reasons, glass was their ‘first choice’ in the specification, according to Woldingham Homes Director Gavin Hunt. “Homeowners love the look of seamless glass and the balconies are one of the main selling points of the homes,” he says.
“They offer great additional space from which to enjoy the views, whether with a morning cup of tea or a glass of wine in the evening. That’s why we insisted on glass that not only adds an extra-special touch; it’s strong, durable and low-maintenance too.”
Woldingham Homes had approached two other balustrading companies, but chose Balconette for their price-competitiveness and also because they are a local company.
“I’d driven past Balconette’s Lingfield offices as they’re only 15 minutes from the site, so I got in touch,” continues Gavin. “I liked the fact that they are very local, which made delivery and installation easy as the building progressed.”
The system’s ability to deliver longer spans of clear glass with fewer supports was another key factor in their decision, as well as Balconette’s technical support. “The team designed the wall fixings for the balustrades and their full installation service made everything straightforward. The balconies look great!” he adds.
