Glass and aluminium balustrading supplied by Balconette has been used extensively to create individual balconies and increase light to communal access areas at a new residential development in London.
The New Heston Road project in Hounslow comprises 88 apartments, of which 28 are for shared ownership and the rest are affordable rented accommodation. The three blocks were completed in 2017 for the London Borough of Hounslow by United Living, one of the UK’s leading providers of refurbished and new build living solutions.
Close collaboration between Balconette’s technical department and the United Living team ensured the project progressed smoothly from specification to installation.
United’s Site Manager Tony Kopczak commented: “The Balconette system met exacting specifications for this scheme in terms of its high quality, robustness and efficient design. It was quick and easy to install, plus the balconies look very good and certainly enhance the external appearance of the buildings.”
In total 873 metres of balustrading was installed with some balconies featuring coloured composite panels instead of glass.
