‘Classy is how we would describe our lovely Balconette balustrade’

For one Balconette customer, having a named contact and a direct line “made life so much easier” when it came to navigating the balustrade ordering and installation process.
“From initially speaking to one of their sales agents, you are allocated a designated competent person who knows the product. The fact that they offer you a direct line if you’ve got any queries speaks volumes for me,” comments Croydon homeowner Dougal Brown.
What persuaded him to choose Balconette’s Aerofoil System balustrade was reading online reviews, watching some YouTube presentations and speaking with the company to get more information. “It gave me a degree of confidence that they knew what they were talking about. The product that they had fitted the brief exactly, perhaps a bit more than what we were looking for and…that’s what convinced us that this is the right product.
“Having a named contact and a direct line to them made life so much easier. It means you don’t have to tell the same sentence or same story twice. And when you do speak to a designated person, they know what your product is or what you’re trying to achieve. It makes knowledge sharing a lot easier and the information and advice they give you is so much easier, and I felt reassured. They actually believe in their product and are there to help you.”
Nearly eight metres of the Aerofoil System with its classic wing-shaped handrail in a Silver Anodised finish were installed on new composite decking by Paul Frampton of Timbertech Southern Ltd, a Balconette Registered Partner in September 2022.
Dougal, a retired service manager, found Paul’s guidance on the types of Balconette’s glass balustrading systems “invaluable”, explaining: “At first, I wanted no posts, just a frameless glass system, but Paul advised me that this would require extensive works to the existing deck to take the extra weight of the thicker glass. That’s why we opted for the Aerofoil handrail because we’ve got grandkids and it adds a bit more support when you’ve got young children running and bouncing around.
“Paul does go ‘above and beyond’ in my mind and his advice was invaluable in our making the decision. I think Paul was the ‘icing on the cake’ for us in terms of our Balconette journey. I’m very pleased and a lot of that is not only down to Balconette’s product, but the guy that installed it. I’d be happy to recommend both the company and the installer.”
Sitting above an extended living/dining space below, the newly created first-floor terrace overlooks the garden to a park beyond. The Browns enjoy making the most of the sunny outdoor space and have noticed the beneficial ‘windbreak effect’ from breezes due to the glass panels.
Dougal adds: “Everyone who’s seen the balustrade say they love it. The word they use is ‘classy’. We’ll definitely be making full use of it next year!”
