Here at Balconette we have developed a post solution to allow the use of the Hybrid® Orbit on stair runs. The 66X75mm “Newel Post” allows for the Balconette to be easily used on stair runs.
The Balconette Glass Balustrade is a unique glass balustrade system designed to rely on the strength of the handrail, enabling wider spans of glass than any other balustrade system.
The Hybrid® Orbit System Balustrade features a 70mm diameter handrail, and with these new 66X75mm "Newel posts," it can be used on stairs.
The principle of the system remains the same, utilizing the combined strength of precision-engineered handrail profiles and the strength of the glass.

So how does it work?
66X75mm Newel posts are installed at the top and bottom of the stair runs. If the run exceeds 2.7m, additional posts must be installed in the middle of the run.
The newel posts are composed of two parts: a primary steel post installed at the initial stage to allow the base plate to be covered by the finished floor.
The primary post is covered by the system newel post, which is a 66mm x 75mm post that slides on top of the primary post.
The handrail is then fixed to these newel posts.
The handrail height on the stairs is 900mm, and on the landing, the height needs to be 1100mm. This newel post system allows for one side to be fixed at 900mm high and the other at 1125mm.

Glasses are fixed between the handrail and the bottom rail with clean lines that do not have any ugly clamps or lugs.
